Ah Mah Homemade Cake Vivo City
I’ve bought their butter cake before and really loved it, but this time it was completely different. The texture and flavor were off — the cake tasted dry and lacked the rich buttery taste it used to have. Even from the appearance, I could already tell the quality had dropped. At $11.90, I honestly don’t know what I was paying for this time. It just didn’t taste good. I had high hopes since I thought I’d found the perfect butter cake, but the purchase recently was quite disappointing. Hope the team can review the quality and SOPs to ensure consistency.
Tried Ah Mah pandan Castella Cake at VivoCity It’s been a while since I last had castella cake, but I couldn’t resist when I passed by a stall at the VivoCity basement food walk. The pandan flavor caught my eye, and they were making the cakes fresh on the spot — it was fun watching them flip the cakes and cut them precisely. The price is slightly on the higher side ($12 plus) , but it seems they use quality ingredients, which shows in the taste. The cake was soft, fluffy, and had that lovely jiggly texture. I was pretty happy with it overall and would definitely buy it again if the craving strikes.
The customer service is very bad. The young girl at the cashier counter is so rude like her boss owe her a lot salary. They need to train their staff to talk to customers in a friendly manner especially at the cashier. The cake is not freshly baked, cold and extremely sweet.
Nice traditional sponge cake. It’s not that sweet and it’s great. Tried the double flavours. The cheese is with two layers of cheddar cheese at the bottom. On top is the sponge cake. The original is very soft and not too sweet too.
4 star for the old gentle man who sold us almost 400 gms loaf of cheesecake for the price of one slice, SGD12.50. He found out we were tourist and said welcome to SG and asked us which we'd prefer, I love the original so ordered one slice after dinner to go, to our surprise he handed the loaf ♥️. As far as the cheesecake itself I've had better but the hospitality of Singaporeans is what amazes us.
