Attracted by its interesting menu and signs outside while walking in Vivo looking for lunch and the prices looked reasonable. Ordered 2 sets and also a daily soup. Average taste a bit on the salty side and with pork chop lacking texture. Looks better than its taste. Most seats were stools without backrest and tables were closed together. However. At Sunday noon the cafe was quite empty.
I am a long-time fan of the original Beach Road stall, which is very tasty. My high expectations for this branch were unfortunately not met today. I ordered Set A with an additional serving of prawns. The primary issue was the inconsistent quality and temperature: Temperature: The rice and all the side dishes were merely lukewarm, suggesting they had been sitting out for some time, which significantly detracts from the enjoyment of curry rice. Chicken Chop: The chicken chop included in Set A was noticeably hard and difficult to chew, a clear sign of overcooking or poor preparation. Prawns: The additional prawn order was disappointing. It now appears to consist of 4 pieces, up from a previous 2, but the quality has suffered greatly. The prawns were covered in a thick, soft batter instead of the expected thin, crispy crust. Overall, this was a very poor meal that failed to uphold the high standards set by the original Beach Road outlet. I was thoroughly disappointed that the quality could not be maintained at this location.
Very good as the original. Much spacious and comfortable seating. Same variety of food and menu. Very reasonably priced
