Canton Paradise 樂天小香港 at Bedok Mall
Had an early dinner here yesterday, we came early (6pm) so it was not crowded. Ordered these dishes: Pork Ribs - 7/10 Wasabi prawn - 7/10 Garlic Kai Lan- 6/10 Claypot fish - 7/10 $121 for 3 pax (with rice & Chinese tea) Overall ok meal, but Dian Xiao Er (also in Bedok Mall) provides better value.
One of the worst Chinese restaurants in Singapore. Recently, Paradise Group has their standards drop significantly. Chicken is tasteless, only oil taste. Full of bone splinters. Every mouth, you'll have tiny bone splinters pierced into your gums! My mum and grandma can't even eat it properly. The kitchen here don't bother changing worn out knives. Their signature duck changed as well. It's so bad omg. The skin is not even crispy. The meat feels like wet tissues, filled with bone splinters as well. Horrible experience at this outlet. Paying quite an amount for such quality of food is simply pathetic. Salted egg fried rice, fully tasteless. Look at the amount of salted fish they gave. Total not even 3 tiny pieces for a plate of SALTED FISH fried rice.
Canton Paradise at Bedok is a solid spot for satisfying dim sum cravings. The roast duck was tender and flavorful with perfectly crisp skin, while the pork dishes were juicy and well-seasoned. The baos were soft and fluffy with generous fillings, and the hor fun was smooth, fragrant, and nicely wok-kissed. Overall, comforting Cantonese flavors done well.
Love their silky smooth Cantonese porridge. Unfortunate the char siu wasnt good. The cut of meat was dry standard pork shoulder type and was dry. Compared to many others, their version pales. The fried hor fun has wok hei and the hor fun was also smooth. The air-conditioning was not cold. I was sweating as I was eating my porridge. Also lacking service attention. The face carried by the staff lacks enthusiasm and i can hardly call for attention. Suggest the management to install call attention buttons.
Went to try the so called 40% dim sum hi tea from 3 to 5 pm Mon to Fri promotion offer menu. Food were not bad but too back. The whole restaurant premise was not fully air conditioning...we keep sweating while we dine in. It was exactly the same situation as their sister restaurant next door. And by the way ....40% menu not a lot of varieties..
