Co Chung Vietnamese Restaurant Plaza Singapura
We ordered 2 sauteed beef and white onion banh mi sandwiches, a savory fern cake dish, the chicken cabbage salad, and 2 drinks. All the dishes were just alright. If I had to choose my top choices, the fern cake and the banh mi would be it. But they didn't stand out as being fantastic. Do note that the sandwiches are spicy. The chicken and cabbage didn't taste light and fresh as the menu picture looks. There was too much sauce on it and the sauce was a bit too salty and too sweet. I don't think I would order this again. This is actually my second visit to this restaurant. And while I had wanted to like this place, I do not think I will be returning again. For the $70+ I spent here, I will need the food quality to be a lot better to feel it is worthwhile. Do also note that this place offers free dessert for a written google review. This may be the real reason why they have so many reviews here.
The soup is very rich and flavourful. They gave a good amount of beef. For me, I love spicy soup and I added more chilli to it. The lemongrass lime juice is a great addition to the meal. They came up without sugar and you could add some since they have given you a sugar syrup for it. Definitely a must try « Pho ». Thumbs up for their service too. Definitely recommended for everyone who visits Singapore.
We visited Co Chung Vietnamese Restaurant at Plaza Singapura for dinner, there was a short wait during peak hours but seats were thoughtfully provided outside the restaurant, which we appreciated. We ordered the Vegetarian Banh Mi with Impossible beef and the Vegetarian Pho with Impossible meat. The pho soup was flavourful, while the Banh Mi fillings were tasty, though the bread was a little too crispy for our liking. Despite the restaurant being busy, the staff were genuinely friendly and attentive. However, we did find the pricing a little on the higher side, about S$38+ for two dishes including tax, which felt pricey compared to similar dishes at other Vietnamese restaurants. Overall, a decent option for Vietnamese food with vegetarian choices.
🌟 One of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants in Singapore. There’s usually a queue during lunch or dinner time, but it moves quite fast. 🍲 I’ve tried different dishes here and today I ordered the bún chả and the super thin vermicelli with grilled beef wrapped in betel leaf. 🥬 They use fresh ingredients and the portions are decent. Highly recommended!
Food is super good here but the COST though,… be prepared to pay an arm and a leg and the whole of your lower body perhaps. Ordered the grilled pork bahn mi to share for tea break, the Vietnamese coffee was really potent, only fell asleep at 2 AM on the day when my usual bedtime was 10 PM, but you have to pay $8++ for the coffee. In comparison the bahn mi was $12++. Price is definitely steep so it’s a treat for me in a long time. Will I be back? Yes to try the bun cha but for now will be saving money.
