Coucou is a well-known Taiwanese hotpot restaurant located in Jewel Changi Airport. I visited on a weekday evening, and to my surprise, it wasn’t crowded at all. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, perfect for a leisurely dinner. The staff were friendly, attentive, and welcoming. They patiently explained the menu options and even gave us a brief tour of the restaurant before showing us to our table — a nice touch that made the dining experience feel more personal. It’s quite cold inside the restaurant, but they thoughtfully provide blankets to keep you warm. Once the hotpot starts bubbling, it becomes much more comfortable and cozy. Although the prices are slightly on the higher side, the food quality is excellent. The Taiwanese mala soup base was flavorful and aromatic, with tofu and pork knuckles already included and unlimited refills available. The free hot tea was pleasant, and the Taiwanese bubble tea with Da Hong Pao tea was outstanding — fragrant, rich, and not overly sweet. One small downside is that the menu doesn’t offer half portions like some other hotpot places. For just two diners, the serving sizes can feel a bit too generous. For dessert, we tried the bird’s nest dessert, which was discounted. It was light, not too sweet, and a nice way to end the meal. If you’re celebrating a birthday, Coucou adds a special touch — the birthday guest receives a free dish (pork) and a cute paper crown to mark the occasion. It’s a fun and thoughtful gesture that makes the celebration feel special.

First time trying this hotpot restaurant with my family! From the moment we entered the restaurant till the end of our dining session, I was surprised by the level of hospitality delivered by the staff. Daniel, who attended to us during our waiting time, gave us the menu and explained our queries regarding the menu since it was our first time dining in this chain. He was also very friendly in accomodating our needs as we were settled in for dining. Other staff members, including Shine, Amy and Chia Wei, helped to bring our ordered dishes to the table and attended to our soup adding requests promptly. Though priced at the higher end as compared to other hotpot restaurants I have been to, the overall dining atmosphere is pleasant and all the staff who I interacted with are all hospitable, kindly attending to our requests promptly and making our dining experience positive. All in all, the soup is wonderful, the dishes are amazing, the food & drinks selection is abundant, even complimentary mini drinks are provided to us patrons of the hotpot restaurant! I will love to visit the various Coucou Hotpot outlets once again to savour the taste of wonderful hotpot!

We visited this restaurant as a family of seven and were looking forward to enjoying a meal together. The food itself was delicious and well prepared. Upon arrival, we informed the waitress of our group size. She suggested an 8-person round table with a minimum spending of over SGD 600, which we declined. She then proposed that if we ordered 3 soups at SGD 108, we could still use the 8-person table, but we declined again as we only planned to order 2 soups. Eventually, we were seated at a 6-person table with no minimum spending or additional requirements. While we enjoyed the food, the repeated suggestions tied to minimum spending made us feel a bit uncomfortable. We came simply to enjoy a family meal and did not intend to take the 8-person round table from the start. Hopefully, the seating and service approach can be more welcoming and flexible in the future.

It’s expensive mainly because of the soup base but I feel it’s nothing amazing. The ingredients are fresh so it’s good. I suggest selling white rice as individual menu item and don’t just bundle them with the condiment. The heat distribution of the pot is a disappointment, the mala boils very quickly but the other one boils lightly, this is throughout the time we eat so I don’t think time plays a critical role.

Coucou Hotpot‧Brew Tea is a must-visit at Jewel. While it sits at a slightly higher price point, the quality of the food, the elegant ambiance, and the combination of excellent hotpot with gourmet bubble tea makes it absolutely worth the premium for a memorable meal. The restaurant boasts a dark, cozy, and elegant interior with modern Oriental aesthetics, creating a wonderfully intimate dining atmosphere. The service was top-notch—attentive, friendly, and efficient, ensuring our table and pots were well-managed without being intrusive.
