Da Paolo Gastronomia - Marina Bay

I stumbled into Gastronomia Da Paolo on one of my worst days in Singapore—already weary, disappointed by several meals, and ready to accept another underwhelming dining experience. What I received instead was an unforgettable reminder of why food matters. I ordered the turmeric-roasted cauliflower and the pesto pasta. The cauliflower arrived cool, but my hunger and curiosity kept me going. Then came the pasta—warm, fragrant, and prepared with the kind of care you can taste. One bite, and my shoulders dropped. The flavors were comforting yet vibrant, familiar yet executed with perfection. It was as if the kitchen understood exactly what I needed that moment. The meal transformed my mood. In a city of glittering attractions, this small corner of Marina Bay became the highlight of my visit. I nearly cried at the table—not from sadness, but from gratitude. Sometimes, good food does more than feed you—it restores you. Gastronomia Da Paolo did exactly that.

We had soups, pasta & pizza. The portion size is good. Good texture to the food. Ambience is great. It’s my happy place.

The food is decent and at reasonable prices. The management and service standards were very poor unfortunately. One queue for all purchases including take aways and dining in. Table for 4 were occupied by 1 person with no timeline for dining. There were people who were obviously stalling and not eating. Table orders using the QR indicated that most of the items were sold out although they were available if one joined the queue.

Meh! 😑 Unless you have to I’d keep walking to find another place. Food was ok as stated in several reviews. Service lacking. Devoid of much atmosphere. Also - my wife is celiac and there was nothing that could be done for her. They offered scrambled eggs but at the same price of the full breakfast! Really? In this day and age, nothing gluten free and if you order eggs only you get charged for everything you can’t eat because you have an auto-immune disease? Come on now! 😩

Excellent food, environment and view. Tried their curry pasta, it was so packed with flavor. Same goes for the banana cake and small pizza.
