Dapur Penyet @ Jewel Changi Airport

I usually love Dapur Penyet, especially the bawal bakar — it has always been my favorite. But this time was quite a disappointment. The fish was very small for the price, and the sambal had no taste at all. Really hope the quality can go back to what it used to be, because I’ve always enjoyed the food here.

The food was quite enjoyable, though the ambience could use a little improvement to enhance the overall experience.

Tried it once in another outlet and decided to give it a try again It did not disappoint - in terms of how bad it was Meat was too small, too dry, did not feel like I was eating Ayam penyet at all. Chilli super spicy, not a bad thing. Service staff had bad attitude, did not even speak, did not give a basic service (& still charged 10% service charge for no service) Atmosphere was thrash, there was a loud radiator next to the tables, I couldn’t even have a conversation. Now I know why this place is empty EDIT: There were no music playing. Sound was not from grilling. The restaurant has a faulty machinery. Food portion has nothing to do with quality. For the amount you’re charging, it doesn’t justify the quantity of meat and even quality. Meat was dry, what quality.

Well here's my review, whenever I see nasi ayam penyet, there has to be a tempeh included in the dish, it's the standard ingredient for nasi ayam penyet but this place disappoint me. Ayam penyet president is so much better. I can only say the good thing for the chendol, at least it's well done. For the vibe it's ok nothing fancy, the smoke from the kitchen can reach you if you're sitting too close to the counter. Price wise is affordable for a restaurant, however the lack of the ingredient tempeh is just not acceptable for me. I wanted to pay with paynow and use the scan code at the counter but the code just doesn't register, luckily had some cash with me. Overall I'll give 4.5/10, not prolly gonna return there for nasi ayam penyet.

had ayam geprek with their chili hijau while husband had their ayam penyet with balado. both are nice, we both enjoyed it. also it's affordable even at airport
