How could I not give 5 stars to Downstairs! I’m a big fan! Their food is always delicious and comforting. Food: They recently introduced a new dish, Fish Soup with Braised Pork Rice and I was absolutely delighted! The first bite of the sliced fish was so fresh and flavorful that I couldn’t help but clap in joy. Staff: The team is always warm, friendly, and full of smiles every time I visit. Fantastic job, Downstairs! You’ve got a loyal customer in me, I’ll definitely be back again and again!
Cute little place designed like a HDB void deck. I'm happy that there is added protein in their rendition of local food. Mee rebus tasted old school, yellow noodles are cooked al dente. Hopefully they have steamed/grilled options for people who doesnt fancy deep fried battered meats. 👍 Decent meal at an affordable price.
I tried the signature wok-fried prawn noodles and mee rebus here. Personally, I enjoyed the mee rebus more — the gravy was thick, rich and full of flavours, got nostalgic taste. The prawn noodles were decent and I was hoping for a bit more prawny taste. Overall, the mee rebus definitely stood out for me and would be the one I’d come back for.
Ordered the macaroni soup with fishcake, luncheon meat, chicken cutlet, and cai xin. Overall, the food was quite ordinary and somewhat bland. The staff seemed a bit distant, which made the place feel less welcoming.
Wanton mee was great - kids love it The fried chicken was less than ideal Overall a very basic place for comfort food The shop layout was nice tho
