Five Spice @ Jewel

Came to try the Devil Chili Mala Hotpot stall cooked by a Muslim chef... its a Chong Qing style of Mala...taste really good! Various ingredients Airport staff get 10% discount.. The price is OK consider the rental in Jewel.. not cheap compare to conventional Hawker stall. Will I come again? YES definitely! But a lot empty store. Take note The atmosphere is nice and clean.. I hope they provide more tray return station

A nice food court in the Changi Airport Jewel. The food court is located just beside the cinema so you can able to locate it easily. It has more than ten food stall there and the environment is nice for a casual meal. The average cost of a meal is about ten Singapore dollars and it’s one of the cheapest place in the Jewel. During meal time it can be crowded so be early.

Got the two meat with rice set. Comes with dumpling soup and veg. Roasted pork and char siew was not bad! Nice and juicy meat that comes with the sauce ladled over. Tbh I can just eat the sauce and rice cos it’s good.The chilli is nice too:-) The portion is a bit much for me I couldn’t finish although it was yummy!

I am going to give this place a real bad review. The cleanliness is just not up to par. The tables are sticky. The chairs are disgusting with streaks on it. The provided fork and spoons are dirty even after it’s “washed”. Look at my photos of dirt and spots on the cutlery. Tables left uncollected after 20mins. We sat here in front of Guan’s Mee Pok stall, for a good hour observing this ridiculousness. The staff collecting the plates and cutlery walked past it and ignored it. Customers are just sitting next to these ugly uncollected utensils. Look at all the uncollected plates in my photos. Almost every table has a set. It’s a shame! Unbelievable that this is in Changi Airport Jewel. Really disappointed.

What’s with all the empty stores here. Every single store has close down. So end up having some stir fried noodle and San lou and to be honest it’s horrible . The bean sprout is raw and the san lou is tasteless . Well at least the mala is decent!
