Food junction is back — and ngl, it’s looking so good! The vibes? Kinda retro-cute 👀 Think 80s Retro Diner energy: jukeboxes, booth seats, warm lights… basically a nostalgia overload. Plus, the new Japan Street legit feels like a mini Tokyo food alley And the lineup? Plenty stalls! We try 🥢 Myung Ga II Minipress — my most anticipated stall. Been dying to try their restaurant, so this express version? Immediate yes. Got the Pork Cutlet and Spicy Stir-Fried Pork Belly Hotplate— crispy, juicy katsu with that golden crunch, and sizzling pork belly coated in bold, gochujang-based sauce that’s spicy, savoury, addictive. Aroma alone had me drooling before the first bite 🤤🔥 ngl, almost cried. 🇯🇵 Cha Han— Akashi Group’s first garlic fried rice concept. Tried the Teriyaki Chicken Fried Rice with scrambled egg add-on — garlic hits hard, teriyaki chicken sweet-savoury perfection, and buttery eggs just melt into fluffy rice 🍳🍗 Legit can’t stop thinking about it. 🥟 Zhang Ji Yun Jiao — handmade Shandong dumplings 🍲 Shabu Bar — bringing back Food Junction’s OG *hotpot-in-food-court legacy since 1993 💥 Pure nostalgia. 🍜 You Men Hong Kong Roast — Mum went for Steamed Chicken & Roasted Duck Kuey Tiao. Silky noodles, tender chicken, glossy roast duck that hits every bite ❤️

Trying some of the stalls at newly reopened food court. It has a retro vibe and a hidden Japanese and Korean section tucked in at the back. A total of 17 new food partners! Here’s what we tried: 🐓 Huat Huat BBQ Chicken Wings • Rojak ($6) • Chicken wings ($1.80 each) This was our favourite! Both dishes were nice. The chicken wings as well as taupok and youtiao were grilled before serving. Sauces and condiments on point. 🦞 Lobster King (Pao Fan & La Mian) • Prawn Pao Fan ($9.50) The soup was so gao the top layer actually coagulated as I walked back to my seat. 🍚 Cha Han (Akashi Group’s first garlic fried rice concept) • Garlic Fried Rice with Yaki Niku ($8.80), with top up of stir fried vegetables ($2.50)- found this flavourful but a bit salty. Would recommend the vegetable addition.

The newly reopened Food Junction @ Junction 8 Bishan has been refreshed with a lively American 60's-retro themed décor, giving the food court a vibrant and nostalgic charm. Diners are spoiled for choice with a wide selection of cuisines, ranging from local favorites to Korean, Japanese, and Chinese dishes. The place is already drawing strong crowds, evident from it being packed even on a weekday afternoon around 5pm

It’s the newly revamped Food Junction at Junction 8. They have so many stalls and cuisine, with segments and sections distinctively sector out the types of categories. My queen and I had the Japanese segment, Japanese curry pork cutlet and grilled chicken chop. Both were unsatisfying disappointing sadly.

This food court reopened in Sep 2025. 26 stalls in a retro American-diner style decor theme, including a Japanese food street (with 6 stalls) What have disappeared are the Malay/ Penang stalls (i.e. Penyet King), local delights stall (i.e. HKM, CKT), Teppanyaki stall, Beauty Nutritious Soup and Bone Broth Noodle. Others (e.g. Odeon Beef Noodles, Hao Jian Banmian) have been replaced by new brands selling the same food Nonetheless, quite a few of the original stalls have remained (e.g. Washoku Goen Japanese curry, Blanco Court Beef Noodles, Pepper Lunch Express, Putian) There is now a strong Japanese/ Korean section with many new entrants: + Washoku Goen Japanese curry (existing) + Tokyo Yoshoku (Jap Italian) + Myung Ga II Express (branch of Korean restaurant from Bukit Timah Plaza) + Pepper Grill + Double Up (Korean Fried Chicken & Western) + JJ Food Express (Japanese Cuisine) As well as new Chinese and local favourites: + Zhang Ji Yun Jiao Shandong Dumplings + Lau Dai Hua Teochew Minced Pork Noodles + Jing House YTF + King Grouper Fish Soup + Mala Hotpot + Xin Xin Herbal Soup + Crispy Grilled Fish + Shabu Bar + Spinach Chef (Spinach Soup & Ban Mian) + Claypot Delights + Char Han Garlic Fried Rice + Lobster King Pao Fan & Lamian + You Men Hong Kong Roast + Huat Huat BBQ Chicken Wings + Jing Mini Wok + Mixed Rice The good/not so good news: + Number of tables has increased, but they're now closer to each other. + Prices of stalls that carried over surprisingly didn't increase. + The crowd that was crazy bad when it reopened seemed to have died down a little. But it's still difficult to secure seats. Tip: The top-up kiosk is no longer at the front of the food court, but deep inside the Japanese/ Korean food alley.
