Kam's Roast 甘牌燒味
Would be better if the staff could focus more on the taste and service instead of promoting unrelated products. I really love their orange red bean soup — it’s delicious! The roasted duck was also very tasty. However, the roasted pork was a bit too lean — it would be great if the staff could ask whether we prefer fatty or lean meat, as being too lean really affects the texture. Hope they can maintain their overall good standard.
Commentary on Kam’s Roast at Jewel ✨ I recently dined at Kam’s Roast, Jewel Changi, and ordered the following: • Half Roast Duck (portion was generous—I couldn’t finish and packed half to take away) • Poached Hong Kong Kai Lan • Rice • Soup of the Day • Homemade Hot Barley Food & Presentation 🍽️ The food was well-prepared and nicely served. The duck was flavorful, though the portion size leaned towards being more than one person could comfortably finish. The kai lan was fresh and simply poached, complementing the richness of the roast. The soup and rice rounded out the meal, while the hot barley drink added a comforting touch. Service 🧑🍳 Service was attentive, though I personally found the waiters’ product promotion a little distracting. While I understand it is part of their role, it may slightly affect the dining experience for some customers. A gentler approach could make the atmosphere more relaxed. Comparison with Hong Kong 🇭🇰 Having tried Kam’s Roast in Hong Kong, I would still prefer their roasted goose, which unfortunately isn’t available in Singapore due to ingredient limitations. The duck here is a worthy substitute, but the goose remains the highlight of their Hong Kong outlet. Overall Impression 🌟 After a period of travel, this meal was a pleasant and satisfying stop. Despite minor service quirks, the food quality and presentation made it a nice dining experience at Jewel.
I was pleasantly surprised to find Kam’s Roast at Jewel, Changi Airport! This legendary Hong Kong roast meat brand, around since 1942, really lives up to its reputation. The roast duck has perfectly crispy skin and juicy, flavorful meat, the honey-glazed char siu is lean yet tender with just the right amount of sweetness, and the roast pork has an amazing crunchy skin with a well-balanced fat-to-lean ratio. The Chinese sausage is subtly sweet and super satisfying. Prices are very reasonable for the quality—around SGD 20–30 per person—and the portions are generous. You can even take away their claypot rice, which comes in a small pot and feels surprisingly luxurious for airport food. Definitely a must-try if you’re passing through Changi!
This place is renowned for its roast meats. Their combination is a great deal, and you can buy different roasts together. The regular BBQ pork is delicious and less fatty, while the Toro BBQ pork is equally tasty but with more fat. The roast pork is also great for those who prefer a crunchier, fattier pork. However, they don’t offer the best part of the chicken for the combination, even though the chicken is tasty. The roast duck is good with crispy skin, one of the favorites. One of the besr side dish definitely need to try is the marinated black fungus with vinegar, refreshing for appetizer. They do have a nice chili to go along with it, but no other chili is served here. The service is choppy, with some good but most uncles not being very customer-oriented when answering customer request. They should be trained better to talk to customers, and if not, maybe other higher-ranking staff should handle customer interactions while others just serve. Despite this minor service flaw, they master the roast and serve very delicious roast meats. The rice and noodle set seems limited to certain hours, which is a shame because they offer better value. It’s a great place to enjoy roast dinner in Jewel. There’s definitely room for improvement in the customer service department.
While sending my family off at the airport in Singapore, we stopped by for this roasted duck and it was a pleasant surprise. The prices are clearly listed, the roasted duck tastes great, their wanton mee also not bad, and the staff are friendly and efficient. A very good option if you’re waiting for a flight or just shopping around the area. Definitely worth trying!
