Reviews
KOMA Singapore
This was my first time going to KOMA. I’ve heard a lot about this place, so I decided to bring a large group of 12 to try the lunch menu. If you’re a Marina Bay Sands member, you get a three-course meal for the price of two, which is quite a good deal considering the price. I recommend booking this place early because it’s always very busy, even during lunchtime, especially for larger groups. You may need to leave your credit card as a security deposit. We made a point to order everything from the two-course menu without paying the extras, so you can see the presentation in my photographs. The standout dishes were the Vegetable Tempura as an appetiser, the Pan-Seared Seabass and Truffle Fried Rice as main courses, and the Lemon Yuzu dessert. Many people who visit this restaurant order the Bonsai as a dessert, which is very pretty. So, if you come in a big group, I would definitely recommend that. it's quite a sight. Additionally, we received very good service from the private room upstairs and the ladies at the door, who accommodated us even though there was a complication with our bookings. Overall this was a memorable place for an end of year lunch with a big group. We stayed on for approx 2.5hrs and had a great time. Thanks KOMA
The best service I’ve had from any restaurant in the past 12-18 months. From the moment we were seated until we left, it was a very comfortable experience. From menu recommendations to the small interactions, the service punched above its expectations for a restaurant such as KOMA’s. Kudos to Chloe, Kristine, and the staff for the above. The sea bass was surprisingly balanced across the taste of the fish, the sauce atop, and the vegetable between the fish. Typically for sea bass dishes, quite a bit of the taste is masked by the other flavourings, but not in this case. Would say the black cod is overall a better and tastier dish, would recommend that, but for a sea bass it was well done. The uni carbonara was a pleasant surprise as it was thick enough but not overwhelming or “jelak”. Wouldn’t say that the uni is anything spectacular, but the carbonara sauce definitely is. The noodles itself are al dante, one that was done well at that. Only caveat would be if you’re not one that appreciates the semi-loud EDM-esque music, it may be a little louder than your liking. Not surprisingly given KOMA is run by Tao Group, which operates Marquee beside so…take it as you will. Pricing: ~S$100/pax Reservation: Highly Recommended
We had dinner here and chose from the Ala carte menu. The restaurant is elegantly done and had great vibes and cool music. Reservations are recommended as they are very popular. The wait staff are good and well trained. We ordered chicken gyoza to share which was good and it was 5 pcs per plate. I requested for chawan mushi and though it was not on the menu, they were able to make it for us. My truffle unagi maki was delicious. And the cod fish main course was a good portion and really flavorful. For dessert, we had the Bonsai which was a chocolate dessert beautifully served and everything could be eaten, including the pot that came with it. The dessert looks small but it was good for sharing. Overall a satisfying dinner and I’ll be back to try their set lunch menu which is $68 for 3 course and looks promising and great value.
The Japanese food here is fresh and well prepared, with good attention to detail. The sashimi is thick-cut and fresh, while the sushi rice is nicely seasoned. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, with a cozy Japanese-style setting that makes the dining experience relaxing. Soft lighting, clean décor, and subtle Japanese music create a comfortable ambience. It’s a pleasant place for both casual meals and quiet conversations, giving a nice balance between modern and traditional Japanese vibes.A great place for date.
The place is very Instagrammable and perfect for taking photos. Although it can get a bit crowded, it’s not too noisy, so we were still able to enjoy a good conversation. The food was excellent—definitely worth it in terms of taste. Remy and April were pleasant and friendly. Easy to approach when I need to ask something and they also recommended food that we might like to try.
