Le Shrimp Ramen 樂虾拉面家 at VivoCity
Absolutely outstanding. This shrimp broth ramen is something genuinely special. The broth is deep, rich, and incredibly aromatic — you can taste the hours of care and technique behind it. Intensely umami, beautifully balanced, and never overwhelming. Every spoonful delivers warmth and complexity. The prawns are fresh and perfectly cooked, the shrimp balls are delicate and flavourful, and the noodles have that ideal silky bite that holds the broth perfectly. Even the greens and garnishes feel thoughtfully chosen, adding freshness and texture. What really sets this place apart is the broth itself: bold, luxurious, and unmistakably crafted with precision. It’s not just ramen — it’s an experience, especially for anyone who truly loves seafood-based broths. Easily one of the best shrimp ramen bowls I’ve had. Highly recommended, and absolutely worth coming back for.
I ordered their famous prawn broth noodles. This dish is famous for the thick creamy prawn broth. The taste is quite good. If you drink too much it will be quite overwhelming. The staff is also considerate to provide another bowl for the prawn shells, service is good. It was a crowded weekday and the diners surrounding me are talking too loud and affecting the dining experience.
Another awesome place in Singapore, the city known for some of the best in restaurants with global cuisines. Le Shrimp Ramen, by Paradise Group, is a well known chain of restaurants serving Japanese, Cantonese & Mandarin cuisines. Le Shrimp, however, is known more for Prawns Broths though it also serves other varieties. Do try their Braised Pork Ribs Ramen, with prawns broth. Absolutely delicious, club it with Pork Chops and spring rolls for an excellent combo. One Ramen serving is enough for one person while resisting other mouthwatering options is futile. So go for it and try their side dishes as well. Unless you are sensitive to hot spicy soups, do go for spicy flavours in Ramen, non spicy is bit bland though gives its flavour more strongly. Vivo city is dotted with restaurants, almost at all the floors with many options on ground floor and top floor food court; but amidst all the number of restaurants there one must visit “Le Shrimp 🦐 Ramen 🍜”
I have always loved the Paradise group noodles, supporting Le Niu & Le Shrimp ever since the Le Niu branch in Compassone opened in 2017/2018. The manager back then was really friendly, often taking in feedbacks to ensure that the food quality was up to standard, chatting with customers and even offering customers cups of iced honey lemon during influenza period. Then when the Le Shrimp in Seng Kang Grand Mall opened, the manager was reallocated to become the manager at the new branch. That was when my family was introduced to Le Shrimp. As usually, the noodles, broth and everything was good in general. I have also went to other Le Niu and Le Shrimp outlets at Bedok Mall, Jewel and Terminal 3. Although the services were not as good, they were still decent. Customers were always welcomed with “欢迎观临” and greeted with “下次再来”. The staffs were welcoming and approached customers when they needed help. However, for the 1st time that I visit the Le Shrimp at Vivo City today, I was severely disappointed… The staff was nonchalant and unwelcoming. The 1st outlet that I did not see or hear any interactions between the staff and the customers, not even a simple “欢迎观临”. I went to order for takeaway and he simply brushed me off by saying scan the QR code…. And walked away before finishing his sentence monotonously, best of all, the shop wasn’t even crowded. When another customer was looking at the menu, he told her to “go away and let him pass” in using an unfriendly tone. When the customer asked for help with ordering, he showed reluctance. While waiting for my order, I realised that my order was already all packed up in the containers and left at the counter for the waiter to simply put them into the bag and to inform me that my order was ready. But the guy simply acted as though my order did not exist and went ahead to serve food to several customers that entered the restaurant and ordered food after I did, and mind you, some of them entered 10 minutes after my payment and got their food before I did. Finally when he caught my eye contact then he”finally realised that the order was just done” and went to pack the order. When I asked for Rattan Pepper Oil, he brushed me off with a “oh, we only serve chilli oil” in a bossy and rude manner, as though I owe him money. What’s so special about this outlet that a condiment that at least 5 other outlets of Le Niu and Le Shrimp have that they do not? And what gives the right for the waiter to be bossing around the customers? All in all, this was THE WORST, not one of the worst, but the ONE AND ONLY WORST experience that I have ever had at a Paradise group restaurant. It will certainly make me reconsider whether to ever visit this particular outlet ever again.
I tried the Ebiko Shrimp Noodle with thick vermicelli, bamboo shoot on the side and the apple juice set, plus a bowl of Trio Shrimp Noodle. The broth was tasty and the noodles had a nice bite but on the downside was the shrimp, the shells were hard to peel and did not come off clean which made it less enjoyable. Overall it was still a decent meal, but for a shrimp-focused place I was hoping the shrimp would be easier to eat.
