Pepper Lunch - JEM
Have been eating here regularly for 7-8 years and am leaving a review as it is newly renovated (as of Nov 2025). The floors and chairs used to feel sticky but not anymore. They even clean the chairs in between each customer. Ventilation has also improved. GST included and there is no service charge (rightly so since it is quite self service). Price is ok and the sides are of decent quality. The staff are polite. The 2 queues, 1 for ordering and 1 for seating can be confusing for the unfamiliar.
Hi, I’d like to share some feedback regarding my visit on 30 November at around dinner time. I was dining with three friends, and while the food was great and most of the staff were friendly, we had an unpleasant experience with one particular staff member, Atiqaa. We initially ordered at the kiosk, then noticed there was a 15% NS discount. Since my friend had his 11B card, we went to the counter to ask about the discount. We stood there for quite a while, and although the staff member looked at us multiple times, she did not acknowledge us or let us know to wait. I work at F&B too so I understand it was a busy period, but a simple “please give me a moment” would have been appreciated. When we asked her about the discount T&Cs, her tone felt cold and dismissive, and her answers were very short and soft. She instructed us to order at the kiosk first and then return to the counter, which we did. However, when we came back with the receipt, she again saw us but ignored us, even though another male staff was already helping her at her station. It took some time before she attended to us. When my friend asked politely if PayNow was accepted, she did not respond at all, which made us feel quite uncomfortable. Everything else about our visit was pleasant, the food was amazing, and the other staff members were warm and helpful. This feedback is just to highlight that a bit more friendliness, acknowledgement, or clear communication from this staff member would greatly improve the overall customer experience. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope this helps improve service in the future.
The Queuing Experience can be improved. There are 2 queues and certainly the signages can be improved for better management. People will naturally join the longer queue and after queuing for sometime and then being forced out to go order first at the auto kiosk is not pleasant at all. Maybe the management can spend some $$ and efforts to do up a better signages QUEUE 1: Order and Make Payment First QUEUE 2: Join only if you have Receipt
Not sure if food portion is reduced recently? Previously when I dine-in and ordered takeaway, the portion was fine. But this time, this is all the chicken I got 🤣🤣 Feeding toddlers or what? This isn’t even student meal cause I would understand portion being smaller because of the price, THIS IS ala carte LOL Feedback to the staff and she said they only give 90g of meat, previously the meat was smaller in size hence it looks more ??? wot That aside, male staff at the door was nice and polite. Food was yum as always but need to relook into the portion.
Had a very good dining experience today. Even though we were a big group with two infants, the host Angel was quick and efficient in finding seats for us on a busy Saturday. Really appreciated the warm and thoughtful service. We were attended and served by Cheng Kai and Paul, who were both friendly and attentive throughout our meal. Service was smooth and made our visit very comfortable. Food is good as always. Thank you to the team for the great experience! Will definitely come back again to this outlet.
