United Square has always held a special place in my heart, and stepping inside still brings back waves of nostalgia. Growing up, it was the mall that had everything for a child and student, from enrichment centres like The Learning Lab to the comfort of a familiar McDonald’s meal after classes. Decades have passed, but many of these staples remain, giving the place a sense of continuity and warmth that is rare in today’s fast-changing retail landscape. What I appreciate about United Square is how it has managed to modernize without losing its character. It continues to be known as a “kids learning mall,” with a wide range of enrichment schools, bookstores and activity spaces. Families frequent the place for its practicality, yet there is also something timeless about it. The presence of long-standing tenants makes it feel like a place that grows with you through different life stages, from childhood to adulthood. The mall is not flashy compared to newer developments, but that is precisely why it feels so grounded. It is reliable, familiar and filled with small pockets of memory. For me, United Square is less of a shopping destination and more of a comforting reminder that some things do not need to change.

I stumbled upon this A Taste of Jeju pop-up at United Square and it honestly feels like a little slice of Jeju Island in Singapore! From super juicy Jeju tangerines and Hallabong treats to freshly-caught silver belt fish and fun ready-to-eat snacks — everything tasted amazing and felt so authentically Korean. Also discovered some Jeju skincare products, my new obsession and even unique items for pets like a waterless pet shampoo — so thoughtful! What’s even better — if you spend $50 or more, you get a Jeju Flounder Fish Cake worth $7.60, limited to the first 20 shoppers daily. Plus, there’s a sure-win roulette for Jeju souvenirs and gifts with any purchase. Such a fun and rewarding shopping experience!

There are plenty of shopping options available, including home appliances. The place mainly features food stalls and a variety of other items, including clothing for kids.

the Mall is significantly quieter than qhen I last visited more than 10 years. I appears buck of the business had swimg over to the more strategically located Novena sid such as Square², Royal Square and Velocity. there is a buzz and high emergy over there. United is significantly quieter and I dont see a crowd. F&B are less as well. there is literally no foot traffic except for parents that came to fetch their kids after enrichment class. maybecthey need to do someckind of big scale Tv ads, brand promotion and bus ad etc, to promote the mall. I is a pty becaise it is a great property and there so much potential.now I hardly heard of people going to this mall.

Extremely stupid management, first time I ever heard of a shopping mall that does not allow drop off and pick up? Then the 2 guards that ensuring all this is happening is grumpy and rude. Honestly dont know what the management is thinking when there is literally zero lines or queue to drop off and pick up.
