🟫 Salty Tau Sar Piah from my favourite ⭐Thye Moh Chan at Jewel Mall, Changi Airport. ● Location:➡️ B2 level. 🟩 The history and story ************************ 🟧Thye Moh Chan is an old-school bakery of Teochew Piah. ● Their original retro shop was at Geylang district. Many years ago, the elderly owner wanted to retire. ❇️ But then, Mr George Quek of BreadTalk Group persuaded the owner not to retire, and he bought over Thye Moh Chan, spruced it up, and opened outlets in popular malls to ensure the longevity of this age old brand. (✔️ the news was all over social media back then) ●They have other outlets at Chinatown Point and Paragon Mall basement too 🟡Bought 4 original salty Tau Sar Piahs at SGD2.20 each. ***************************************
I went the last time and got the last piece and was craving for more. Love the tau sar piah. And also the staff was super friendly and nice.
The mooncake (traditionally made baked in old school biscuits style) are good especially the floss yuan yang one. Floss are slightly spicy identical to the floss bun Breadtalk is selling. However I can’t taste the egg, the teochew delight (red tar sar and lotus seeds) not like the last I ate a few years ago. Still recommended to purchase if you like Tar Sau piah style mooncakes!
The tao sar piah mung bean here is delicious is fresh, and not too sweet. What impressed me the most was the great service. Even though we were having tea at the shop next door, they kindly helped us heat up the dessert for us. The staff were very friendly and thoughtful. Highly recommended, and I’ll definitely come back again!
