Tsui Wah
This is definitely one of the must-try breakfast spots if you’re craving an authentic Hong Kong–style breakfast. I’m really impressed with both the food quality and the variety offered. Here are two breakfast sets that I highly recommend and feel are worth reviewing. Crispy Bun with Butter and Condensed Milk – Breakfast Set D ($6.80) I first tried this when they opened at Clarke Quay, and the taste has stayed with me ever since. I haven’t been able to find anything else in Singapore or Malaysia that comes close to this flavor. While many places claim to serve Hong Kong–style buns, the taste is simply different at Tsui Wah. I love the light sweetness, the crispy exterior of the bun, and how perfectly it pairs with the butter and condensed milk. 2. Pork Chop Set, Continental Breakfast ($12.80) Just look at the pork chop—it’s well cooked and not tough at all. The meat is tender, with a satisfying bite that’s chewy but never hard. It tastes distinctly different from other pork chops I’ve tried. The set also comes with scrambled eggs, a bun, hotdog, and baked beans, making it a hearty meal. Total damage: $23.50. Definitely worth coming to enjoy the food, though it’s not exactly wallet-friendly for me—haha.
We dined at Tsui Wah on 2 January at around 8:30 PM. The place is spacious and very clean, and the service was excellent. The lady at the cashier was especially warm, welcoming, and polite. We really appreciated her attitude. The food was decent, but nothing memorable or particularly impressive. Overall, it was a fair experience, but not a place I would return to.
Was at Jem and read the reviews of this place lots of 4’s. We ordered the King Prawns XO noodles( totally blend no taste), if it wasn’t for the chili, was totally tasteless not forgetting the soup was full of MSG flavoured. My Steam rice BBQ Pork with scrambled eggs was so disappointing, the eggs were blend and the BBQ pork was poorly seasoned that requires yet the rescue of the chili. Definitely not going back.
Food quality has indeed improved. We ordered pork cartilage noodle and the pork is much softer and properly cook, the char siew scramble egg rice was delicious too. but what’s makes it excellent and exceptional experiment for me was the manager, Summer. He is polite, professional and most importantly even during busy lunch time period he is obviously busy but he still try his best to help us with our order as we wanted to change the noodle. And he gets it 100% correct in 2 separate occasions.
Consistent good taste HK food and beverages. Especially like their milk tea and milk bun. Members currently enjoy a free kaya condensed milk/kaya butter crispy bun with every main ordered. The Char siew is thick and flavourful and blends well with egg topped rice. The amaranth in fish soup is a delicious and healthy option. One of my favorite HK cafe around this area. Crowd is relatively little on weekday evening.
