翠華 TSUI WAH - Jewel Changi Airport
Usual expected menu and prices. Very good for wanting the holiday in HK feel. 😂🤪 We ordered the usual Cantonese suspect instead of the localized HK Cantonese and Singapore fusion food. The spicy wanton is one of the best in town. The beef brisket and tendon is not bad too. Overall, very satisfying. Also eating at Jewel and spent above certain amount will attract some car parking rebate via the Changi App. Lovely.
Great service from their staff. Pork chop fried rice was good - there were wok hey in the rice & meat was tender and juicy. Polo bun was soft, buttery and crunchy. Good place to go for HK food. Most of the food were ok except for the milk tea as the texture was not smooth enough.
My wife and I actually had dinner at another restaurant in Jewel, but it was so unsatisfying that we left and ended up at Tsui Wah after walking around looking for another dinner option, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise! The food was exactly what we needed. Warm, comforting, and delicious. Everything we ordered was good, portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable. Service was also friendly and efficient. I’ll definitely eat here again the next time I’m at Jewel.
Went to Jewel yesterday to jalan jalan and makan with the wife. Went to Tsui Wah for lunch. I ordered Panyaki Lamb Chop with red wine gravy. The set also came with Borsch soup and toast. Very pleasantly surprised by how delicious the meal was. The lamb chop was very tasty and had baked potato and vegetables. I did not take photo of the soup and toast but it was good too. And came with milk tea to end the meal. The soup/noodle dish was a separate order we also shared (pork cartilage and wonton in fish soup). Wife liked that a LOT.
I stopped by this well-known cha chaan teng in Hong Kong. I ordered the Satay Beef with Instant Noodles and the Kaya Condensed Milk Bun. Nothing felt particularly special, but it was still a good and satisfying meal. I originally wanted to try the Char Siu Rice, but it was sold out, and it seemed like it wasn’t available during the early morning hours.
