Tsuta Japanese Soba Noodles
Recently enjoyed a 3 course dinner at this restaurant and the food was delicious. The gyoza 🥟 was just the right amount of crispiness and so full of flavour. Next was the Original Truffle Shoyu Soba 🍜 and it tasted amazing - the soup was very flavoursome and the noodles texture perfect. I decided to try the sake tasting set and it combined well with the first two dishes. Dessert was the delicious strawberry ice cream 🍨 to top off my amazing meal whilst waiting for a flight. The only minor issue was experienced with the customer service - staff who greeted us at the front of the restaurant tried to get us to take our luggage to a storage section which was out of sight from the dining area. This is despite other diners being allowed to have their luggage next to them so we had to insist a few times to have our luggage with us. Also I had to get up and let the staff know that I was ready for dessert as they didn’t come to my table even after I signalled to them that I was ready. Overall though I recommend this restaurant for the amazing food.
Throw together a mix of Japanese Soba and Vietnamese Pho type of place. Don’t expect too much. Definitely not a place to expect genuinely good pho or soba. Came after arriving on an afternoon flight. Ordered a Spicy Chicken Soba and a Combination Pho. The chicken in the supposedly Japanese soba is cooked in Vietnamese grill chicken style. The soup is by best average tasting. The Pho has the entire mint stock soaked into the soup. I had to fish it out to pluck the mint leaves and dispose the stock. Don’t talk about authenticity here. The beef broth is too salty in my opinion and artificial. I believe it’s premixed seasoning. All in all, if you are hungry and wanted a quick fill-me-up, this place will be okay. Value for money, definitely can have other better options in Jewel.
Overall the food was ok. Ordered the signature truffle noodle and a wagyu beef don. The beef was not that tender, but taste was nice. Service was nothing really wrong, but also nothing worth saying food. the waiter spilled over some soup and still put that on the table, so the table got quite some soup.
Mrs Pho + Tsuta Japanese Soba Noodles JEWEL mall, Changi Airport 78 Airport Boulevard #03 - 216, Singapore 819666 ⚫️ It seems that at Jewel Changi, "Mrs Pho" ( ➡️ a Vietnamese eatery) operates as a sub-brand or shared kitchen under Tsuta’s management or unit. ⚫️ Mrs Pho is indeed a Vietnamese eatery at Jewel Changi and is located directly side-by-side with Tsuta Japanese Soba Noodles. 🟧 They are part of the same restaurant group, and patrons can order from either menu while dining in. 🟦 No wonder - that's why my printed receipt shows Tsuta as the merchant name. 🟦 While Tsuta serves Japanese soba noodles and ramen, Mrs Pho offers Vietnamese cuisine like pho and banh mi ( ie Vietnamese baguette) 🟩 The Food I ordered *********************** 🟪 the Vietnamese prawn paper rice rolls were from the Mrs Pho eatery within Tsuta’s outlet. 🟩 Fresh Summer rolls ( 2 rolls for SGD6.80) ********************************* 🟩 This is for a takeaway as I was rushing home in the evening. 🟩 The Vietnamese paper rice rolls were light, healthy, and translucent rolls packed with fresh ingredients. 🟩 The fillings were poached prawns, soft, bouncy rice vermicelli noodles, lettuce, shredded carrots, cucumber, and bean sprouts that add a pleasant crunch to the entire roll. 🟩 The sauces were a mix of peanut sauce, fish sauce and miso sauce.➡️ I am not an expert in Vietnamese cuisine ➖️ but that is as far as what I can taste and see in the freshly rolled spring rolls. ⬛️ Service= ⬛️ I was attended to by Ms Shirley Lim, the outlet's supervisor or manager, and she was very cheerful, helpful and had a pleasant demeanour. ⬛️ We chatted a bit about Vietnam and its French-influenced cuisine and then I discovered the baguettes at the front of shop (➡️ inside a hawker kiosk) were in reality "silicone baguettes" - just for display purposes only. 😅 I thought these mock food baguettes were real bread. Haha. ⬛️ If I pop by at Jewel mall again, the next time I would sit down to have a proper dine-in meal with my hubby. 🟧Nov 5th, 2025 Wed
It’s OK, I wouldn’t say the flavours are anything Michelin-like. The noodle texture is good but broth and toppings don’t really have much flavour, almost diluted. It’s safe, just. It could be made for the masses being such a busy airport. They shouldn’t be showing the large Michelin boast / advert on the wall in my opinion, or maybe it was the cooks day off.
