TungLok Peking Duck Novena

The duck itself was not bad — skin was crispy, meat tender, and overall quite enjoyable. Presentation with the pancakes, sauces, and condiments was done nicely too. That said, the main menu is on the pricey side. Unless you specifically ask, they won’t show you the cheaper 小炒 (stir-fry) menu, which is a pity because it offers more affordable options. Most of the main dishes outside of that are rather expensive, so the bill can add up quickly. Service was a little slow and staff were not very attentive for this level price of restaurant.

We went on a quiet Monday evening. Only 1 other twble was occupied when we were there. Service wasn't consistent. Staff was polite but not really attentive. Because it was near empty, we couldn't see any staff inside the restaurant except 2 who stationed themselves at entrance, facing passers-by. So how to see to our needs? The duck was disappointing. Totally tasteless and in fact had a fowl odour. We happened to try this dish in 3 other restaurants these 2 months and we all agreed, this one here was the worst, when it should be their signature. Other dishes were normal and acceptable. Will need some pull factors to revisit. Of course, for this branch of restaurant, the pricing are more steep.

We had the peking duck, fried noodles, long beans. This is the best Peking duck I had tried, as the skin was crispy and meat was very tender. The other dishes were also v tasty. The service was also prompt and excellent. Restaurant is spacious and great for family gatherings.

A wonderful dining experience! The dishes were thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. The small yellow fried rice was exquisite, and the beef cubes were especially delicious. Highly recommended!

Visited the restaurant on Sunday, 6 July, and it was an unforgettable dining experience from start to finish. We came for the much-raved-about Peking Duck, and it truly lived up to its reputation, arguably the best in town! Perfectly roasted with crisp skin and tender, juicy meat, each bite was bursting with flavour. The Chilli Crab was another standout. The crab meat was firm, sweet, and fresh, and the dish was beautifully presented, making it both a treat for the eyes and the palate. Other dishes we loved: 1. Salted Egg Prawns with Cereal Oats 2. Stir-fried Prawn Paste & Asparagus with Yu Xiang Sauce 3. Wok-fried French Bean, Bacon & Clam with Chili Paste 4. Glutinous Chicken Rice with Abalone Everything was delicious and decadent. But what really made our visit special was the exceptional service. Special thanks to Fenny (Restaurant Manager) and Lisa for their warm, attentive service. We felt truly well taken care of. Highly recommend this place for both the food and the wonderful hospitality!
