My experience at Watami Japanese Dining in The Woodleigh Mall was truly wonderful and a fantastic choice for a casual Japanese meal. The service was also top-notch—the staff were attentive, friendly, and efficient, ensuring we never had to wait long for anything. What really stood out was the food variety and quality. Everything we ordered was prepared perfectly—fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented. Ordered 2 pax set meal @$55++ Notice d wait staff r elderly, they smiled widely n gave a v warmth feel as they ushered us to our table. Yuzu soda is quite blend. Food is served fast 👍🏻 Diners happened to be v loud that night when we visited. I was hoping d wait staff cld hush them a little but no, they didn't.
First time here. Ordered set for 3 pax Food was okay for the roll and salad. Hotpot had a lot of veggies- namely wong bok, 2 Shitake mushroom, glass noodles and 2 tofu pieces and very little meat. Chicken and squid were nice too. Desert was the water mochi with peanut and syrup. Found it a bit pricey overall.
I always love their salad - fresh ingredients and sauce by the side. The cod is not cheap for the small portion. Umeshu is a good accompaniment to the light dinner. I would recommend this place - for couples or families they have some sets for 2,4 etc. which seem to be more value for money.
Watami food is getting boring. It was very good 10 years ago? But now it is really boring. I ate the army stew and was quite shocked how small the instant noodle was... it was nothing important but I felt cheated. See my photos to understand.
