Food is delicious. Waiting time for table was long. However food comes fast after ordering. We had Line and Karuki sets. Restaurant setting was quite cramped and packed. Food wise, many choices available and tasted well. Likely be back and visiting other branches.
Amazing service from Jason who spotted i had vouchers in my membership to help offset my meal cost. He even taught me how to enjoy the Taiyaki in a better manner. Great to see such an excellent staff. Look forward to visit again
Came for the Mid-autumn celebration. The service is good. I ordered the Like set with extra duck breast, and it tastes really nice. The sea salt sauce with a touch of lemon on the meat is a great combination. You can also ask for a bag or basket if needed.
Special mention to Rao for thoughtfully allowing us to change a table when I accidentally spilled a whole bowl soup, and for offering stacks of tissues—even though we didn’t end up using them, the abundance of it was a big relief
My wife, I and our friend had late dinner at Yakiniku Like (VivoCity) on Sat (15 Nov 2025). The incident involved your outlet manager, Mr. Carao, and it was such a frustrating experience that we felt compelled to write this review immediately after returning home, at midnight. Background: We were seated at 20:42, and to clarify, we’ve dined at this outlet before and were aware of the 50-minute dining time. However, we have never encountered such poor customer service as we did on this occasion. We were assigned a table for three people, but only one grill was provided, which was inconvenient given that we had ordered food for three. We understand that the restaurant was fully packed, so we initially accepted the arrangement without issue. The incident: The issue began when Mr. Carao approached our table to inform us that the restaurant would be closing in 10 minutes. In response, our friend increased the heat on the grill to level 5 (the highest setting) to speed up the cooking process. Mr. Carao returned and told us that level 3 was the maximum allowed, which led to a brief exchange. My wife asked how we were supposed to finish cooking all of our food within 10 minutes if not increase the heat, given that few pieces of meat were still not cooked. Mr. Carao’s response was that we had already exceeded the 50-minute dining time by 10 minutes and that he had not "chased us out," implying that he was being exceptionally lenient. At this point, my wife became frustrated with the tone and response and raised her voice to express her displeasure. I want to clarify that she did not insult the staff or use offensive language. Attached is a photo from the time of the incident, which shows some of the uncooked meat still on our plate. Please note that this photo does not include some meat that I brought to another table to cook so we could finish on time. Comments 1. Were we supposed to finish our meal within 50 mins by eating the raw food? When we questioned how we were supposed to finish our meal within the remaining 10 minutes given that the slices of meat were still uncooked, his response showed no understanding or concern. Instead of offering a solution, he simply repeated that we had exceeded our 50-minute dining time, as though the only option was to stop cooking and somehow finish the meal raw. 2. Tone and Attitude When Mentioning Extra Dining Time We were assigned a table for 3 diners but had only 1 grill. When we pointed this out, instead of acknowledging the inconvenience or offering assistance, Mr. Carao responded in a tone implying that he had already done us a big favour by “not chasing us out.” Is it considered normal for customers to be given less cooking capacity and then made to feel grateful for a few extra minutes? 3. Lack of Initiative and Responsibility When my wife asked why we had not been offered a second grill or another table so we could finish cooking within the time limit, his response was if we asked, he would give it. This shifted the responsibility onto us, as though it was our fault for not demanding a second table. A manager with proper customer service awareness would have observed that three people sharing one grill were clearly struggling and proactively offered a better arrangement, especially upon seeing that many slices of meat were still uncooked at the 50-minute mark. Conclusion: We arrived at the restaurant for a late dinner around 9pm, all of us hungry and eager to finish our meal quickly. It’s not as though we were chatting leisurely and prolonging the process. We were simply trying to eat and finish within the allotted time. We also want to emphasise that we did not place any additional orders during the final call, and we were aware of the approaching closing time as we observed the staff cleaning the restaurant. This entire incident raises serious concerns about the quality of customer service at your outlet, especially when the staff member in question holds a managerial position. We would appreciate if the management contact us directly to discuss this matter further.
