Food Republic @ Causeway Point

Somehow this "drink stall" can offer superb Kopi Siew Dai to my liking. As a Yakun fan, the coffee here taste really good and affordable. And doesn't feel as strong in Caffeine as Yakun. One of a kind.

New stall - Wu Xiang Bee Hoon Super overprice. Never state price for item. 3 item + 1 bee hoon @ 11.80. Bee hoon oily. Chili not nice. (At least not to my liking)

Went for the famous mak man kee wanton noodles (Colab with Joy Luck Teahouse). For $9.80, you get 4 prawn dumplings, est 1/5 filled take away bowl of soup and 1 noodle ball. The noodles are slightly under cooked meaning slight dry and tough which can see from picture it's can still stand. The sauce is smacked in the middle of the ball of noodles for takeaway which by the time you reach home(image is taken appx 30mins after leaving the store), would be hard to toss it evenly. To be fair the taste and favour of the soup and dumpling are there. The soul of the dish - noodles are poorly cooked. The staff were seen trying and rushing to fulfill the orders. And you can't blame them when the are a dozen of hungry customers staring at them. Its an operational and execution issue and no fault of the ingredients/ dish. Infact the rush job that did disservice to the good ingredients. Left this detailed review wishing the operators will notice and improve. I am still looking forward to try as if it's done right, the dish is a real winner.

I would like to share some feedback regarding the service at the drink stall. The staff mentioned that drink sales would begin at 10:00 AM. However, when we queued up at 10:00 AM as instructed, the staff made us wait for nearly 10 minutes while attending to other tasks. Many of us are on tight schedules, trying to grab a quick drink or meal before heading back to work. I hope management can kindly look into this matter to ensure smoother and more punctual service in the future.

I was here today at this Food Republic at Causeway Point, particularly to check out the Joy Luck Teahouse stall therein, because of its collaboration with a couple of "famous" Hong Kong noodle shops. And I have to say that it was a good dining experience until the food court got really crowded at the peak lunch hour, when the noise level increased and "cramped" conditions set in. That said, I do like the variety of food stalls here in that there is something here for everyone.
