Description
The Penang Char Kway Teow here hits with wok-kissed rice noodles, charred edges, and a savory-sweet punch that'll have you ordering the large. Their Hokkien Prawn Noodle delivers briny seafood depth in a rich soup that begs for every last slurp, while the Ban Mian—flat wheat noodles in silky gravy or tossed dry with chilli—proves sometimes simple is *chef's kiss*. Insider move: the Hainanese chicken rice comes in both steamed and roasted versions; go Premium Duo if you can't choose.

Food Republic @ NEX
well organised, and ma8ntained food court with lots of variety for selection. ample seating. xlean and bright. stalls staffs are efficient and courteous.
Tried the 3 mixed signature roast ($10) with a braised egg ($1.50) from Guan Chee HK Roast. The roast pork and char siew were pretty tender and flavorful but the duck was quite dry with a lot of bones and the cucumber was pretty raw. A pretty mediocre meal for the steep price, lots of other options in the food court to explore
Pleasant Surprise at Food Republic, NEX Mall I’ve avoided the Food Republic food court at NEX Mall for quite some time, thinking there weren’t any interesting stalls worth trying. However, I happened to pass by today and decided to try the claypot curry chicken — and it turned out to be excellent. The dish was authentic, rich in flavor, and served piping hot in a claypot, which really brought out the aroma and depth of the curry. It’s the kind of dish I would gladly return for. Definitely a hidden gem within the food court!
I had the fish steamboat with thick noodles. The steamboat was shallow and made scooping troublesome. The flame lasted less than a minute and it looked lije for show only. The soup was tasteless. The cashier was impatient.
I ordered Fried Hokkien Mee from the HKM stall. I didnt know they have increased their prices ( have not been there for a while). I dont know why customers said it is not bad. The taste is good because it is filled with lots of msg. I felt very thirsty after eating and the sotong wasnt fresh ( almost all small sotong heads n I threw away). At least the prawns were fresh but the staff are so lazy. The prawns were not de-shell and the antennae, pleopods, pereiopods were not cut. I dont even know if they did wash the prawns. The prices have gone up too. As for the drinks stall, the teh si kosong was quite bitter . Most likely your staff steep for too long or the temp too hot. For a small cup at 1.90, the least your staff could do is maintain a good standard in your brewing... Yat kun/ kiliney charges more but at least their tea/coffee standard is pretty good.
