Jyu Lae Restaurant is a suitable choice for company lunches or gatherings with larger groups, especially with their weekday lunch promotions. We visited for a year-end team treat hosted by our boss, and the restaurant layout worked well for us, with long tables that can accommodate around 10 people comfortably. This makes coordination and group dining much easier. For lunch, they offer a steamboat set priced at $12.90++. Do note that this set does not include any carbohydrates—rice or noodles need to be ordered separately at an additional cost. The steamboat ingredients were reasonably portioned for an individual serving, with a decent variety, and the soup base was flavourful enough without being too heavy. In addition to the steamboat, Jyu Lae also has lunch set promotions starting from $16++, which come with side dishes. These sets are more filling if you prefer a complete meal without having to top up additional items. One positive experience was the service. My colleague initially ordered à la carte dishes, but the waiter was attentive and proactive in highlighting that the lunch set offered similar items at better value. They were kind enough to assist with changing the order, which was appreciated. Overall, the food quality was good and met expectations for a casual lunch setting. While it’s not a place for premium dining, it delivers decent taste, fair portions, and thoughtful service. It’s a practical and comfortable option for group lunches, team celebrations, or casual work gatherings

Kitty and I recently visited Jyu Lae Bistro, a vibrant Taiwanese restaurant in Suntec City. We were cycling back when it started to rain, and since it was 2:30 PM and we hadn't had lunch, we decided to finally try this place. We'd passed by before, and the decor and ambiance always caught our attention. It wasn't crowded at all; only one table was occupied. It was nice to find a relatively quiet spot. A poster advertising their Lunch Set (daily from 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM, starting at $12.90++) caught Kitty's eye. The poster featured hotpot and hotplate dishes, and the hotpot sets seemed like a great value. The restaurant is designed as a gathering place, offering a unique mix of Taiwanese street food and modern creations. The bistro boasts a stylish and thematic atmosphere with a mix of traditional Chinese and modern design elements, creating a cozy and Instagrammable dining space. The food was nice, and the service was great. We ordered a Lunch Combo Meal for $16.90, including the Hotplate Classic Pork Chop and Taiwanese Style Popcorn Chicken. I got a pint of Heineken for $6.90, and Kitty ordered the "One Person One Pot" Hotpot Set ($12.90) with Golden Soup. The Hotplate Classic Pork Chop was flavorful and the pork was tender. The Taiwanese Style Popcorn Chicken was crispy and delicious. The Golden Soup Hotpot Set was very worthwhile, with lots of ingredients and flavorful soup, perfect for a rainy day. Our subtotal was $36.70, and with service charges and GST, the grand total was $44.02. I definitely felt that the hot pot was a great value, and highly recommend trying it if you're there during lunch hours.

Their sides were great. Main dishes were filling but not impressive. Music was nice and band members were entertaining and interactive. You can scan QR code on the table to choose your songs. They also sang birthday song for those celebrating birthdays. Membership is free. Sadly they do not serve water. We also did not get the birthday cakes although we had 2 birthday girls that day. Staff seemed to be overwhelmed, took a while to get their attention. We enjoyed ourselves much though. Also liked their Halloween themed setup at the stage.

A very positive and good vibe place to chill! The live band focused a bit too much on oldies songs — it would be nice to have more modern Chinese music added in. Food and alcohol selections are great, though the variety of dishes could be improved. Desserts are quite limited, and I hope the management can work on this. Nevertheless, it’s an enjoyable spot with great atmosphere, and I look forward to visiting again with even better improvements!

Food is served very fast upon ordering. Pork chop and dumpling are nice. Liked that the live band start early at 8pm, not the super loud kind still can talk and they will dim the lights. When busy can be quite hard to get server attention, would be great if they can implement a call bell system for each table.
