The food is mediocre, the boiled egg is overcooked, yolk is solid. The drinks (kopi), kaya toast and tart are okay.
The food is good. That is why I am here. What a pity this is ruined by the service of the staff. At 830, I was told by the male staff that I can only dine in for another 15 mins. At 8.40pm, the lady staff was cleaning up and banging tables and chairs. I felt so unwelcome. I know staff is rushing to go back but don’t do this to customers can?
I usually enjoy my visits to Kopi & Tarts, especially on Saturdays when it’s bustling but still pleasant, with quick service and consistent food quality. However, my recent visit on a quiet Wednesday morning was a bit disappointing. I ordered my usual T1 set (from $6.30) for breakfast, but this time, the bread was sliced so thinly it fell apart when I picked it up (2 videos attached). I do understand that slicing the bread into 2 thin pieces might be the norm in some places, but this felt below the usual standard I’ve come to expect anywhere. To be fair, if I had asked, I’m quite confident that the staff would have offered a replacement in good faith. Unfortunately, I had a meeting soon after and didn’t have the time to request one. Overall, the dining environment remains pleasant, it’s a good place for quick catch-ups or solo meals even during busy periods. I just hope this was a one-off and standards stay consistent regardless of the day or crowd size.
Donkey and I were at Suntec, waiting for a movie at Golden Village, and he decided to grab a tart from Kopi & Tarts because he knows I love their tarts, especially their egg tarts. We were excited to try them again! Unfortunately, we were a bit disappointed this time. The quality of the egg tart had definitely dropped compared to our previous experience. While we remember the previous egg tarts being flavorful and delicious, this time the tart lacked that distinct flavor we loved. On top of that, the service we received wasn't as warm as we remembered. It felt a little impersonal and lacking that friendly touch. While the ambiance is cozy, the disappointing egg tart experience and the less-than-stellar service made us hesitant to return. I didn't get to try their coffee or tea this time, so I can't comment on that, but the overall experience left me feeling a little let down. We're giving Kopi & Tarts a 3-star rating based on our experience with the egg tart and service. While the atmosphere is nice, the decline in quality is a concern. Hopefully, they can improve their food quality and service, as their tarts used to be a highlight.
Weekday morning, perpetual queue of 5-10 customers as located near the MRT entrance coming into Suntec tower 4. Coffee was above average, so were the prices. Kopi O kosong was robust and gula melaka coffee did not disappoint. Scrambled eggs were in generous portion. Toasts were burnt black quite a bit. Half-boiled eggs were undercooked and watery. Apple crumble tart was very buttery and not too sweet. Service level was slow and inefficient. No receipt given, missing item, did not bother to check tray of food taken by wrong pager customer. Environment was noisy (open concept) and clean. An uncle staff used a spray (Good) while wiping tables.
