Great alternative to common Korean bbq joints. Sotpot specialises in a few core items. Pot rice, ginseng chicken and steamed meat and veges. All which are very well executed. The pot rice was heavenly. Savoury and a little sweet at the same time served with tons of chopped green onions. The steamed beef slices were literally melt in your mouth soft. The side of stir fried mushrooms aren’t bad at all too. Great tasting whilst healthy it seems. Will probably b back to try the ginseng chicken again. Looks decent. Worth a return for sure.

7 Jan lunch - Nice Korean restaurant around parameter of Suntec, near Sky Garden. Took awhile to locate restaurant from Suntec DONKI as we are mot familiar with Suntec. Ordered set for 4. The beef and pork belly sotpot are nice. Portion of Ginseng Chicken is very small. The collar pork, steamed at table, is definitely a healthier dish, and it is served with dips - light sauce with sesame I think and chilli. Set comes with tea for 4. The male waiters are friendlier than the younger waitress. Customers at table behind us were speaking very loudly, hence the feedback below.

Came here for dinner due to the good Google reviews. We had Ginseng Samgyetang, which is really good IMO. The chicken is very tender and filled with glutinous rice. Soup was so flavourful. We also had the Seafood Japchae, which is surprisingly good. It's a pity the portion is pretty small. Lastly, we had the Duroc Belly Sotbap. I will automatically compared this to Solsot in Seoul at the back of my head. I'm afraid Solsot is really on another level. This sotbap was just not there. Overall, I will recommend the Samgyetang and their ala carte dishes. Give their sotbap a miss, especially if you have tried better ones like Solsot in Seoul.

Tried something a little different at Sotpot at Suntec Sky Garden and I love the concept. It’s not just a Korean meal, it’s almost like a mini wellness experience. The space is clean, minimal, lots of natural light, and you’ll spot traditional Korean rice pots on display when you walk in. Each table even has a cypress wood steamer for their steamed meats, which adds to the whole traditional vibe. Before ordering, you scan a QR code to do a short survey to find out your Sasang body type. Based on Korean philosophy, they recommend a Samgyetang that suits your body. I got matched with the Perilla Samgyetang, and it felt quite fun having a “this soup is meant for you” moment! Beef Woodae Sotbap ($29.90++). The rice here is cooked with a blend of 20 ingredients like pumpkin and lotus root, so it’s already fragrant on its own. On top were chunky cubes of marinated beef, well-seasoned, juicy and tender with a rich beefy flavour and no gaminess. Each pot also comes with chawanmushi, Korean banchan and seaweed soup, so the set felt very complete and comforting. The star for me was the Perilla Samgyetang ($26.90++). The portion is huge and really value for money. The chicken was fall-off-the-bone tender, stuffed with glutinous rice, garlic and red dates. What makes this version special is the ground perilla seeds. Instead of the usual clear ginseng broth, the soup turns thick, nutty and deeply savoury. The flavour is earthy with a strong nutty aroma, super rich but still nourishing. It’s the kind of soup that warms you from the inside and makes you slow down a bit. I kept going back for spoon after spoon. They also have other types like Classic Ginseng for general wellness, Black Garlic for energy, and Black Sesame for a nuttier, earthy profile, so you can explore based on your body type or just your tastebuds. Between the wholesome sotbap, nourishing soups and that personalised quiz element, Sotpot feels like comfort food with extra thought put into it. Great spot when you want something hearty, warm and a bit more meaningful than just a regular meal.
