Sushi Express - IMM

I'm a regular at Sushi Express at IMM. The sushi and other items are fresh and yummy. Not just the regular sushi but lot's of creative sushi types plus non sushi items as well. Reasonably priced and truly delicious. Always clean and comfy interiors. Staff are always polite and helpful. Thank you for the great experience always 😊

The warm service, affordability, and pleasant ambiance more than made up for the rather average food. The food was somewhat fresh, though lacking in flavor. The atmosphere was comfortable, with great ventilation and none of the typical fishiness found at typical express sushi chains. Kudos to Pham who patiently packed my bulk purchase of sushi express tea. Appreciate the careful packing and general positive vibes. Overall, a pleasant experience!

Walk in on a weekend evening and waiting time is about 10 minutes. White plate is $1.50++, black plate is $2++ and colour plate is $3++. The food quality is good and freeflow of wasabi and green tea.

Went to Sushi Express at IMM for dinner, the queue was long but the staff will try their best to slot you in. Sushi choice is quite limited as compared to other sushi shops. But relatively affordable range. Overall it's a good place for sushi if you are craving it.

After visiting this branch, I find that the standard has drop. Manpower and service: Firstly: there are only 2 service staff managing the front area of the restaurant, making them very busy, especially when need to place order for food that's not on the belt. Secondly, many places have gone into electronic ordering services, but Sushi express still need to order through the service staff. As mentioned in my point 1, there are shortage of staff and they are super busy. Thirdly, beside serving, clearing thw table, the 2x poor service staff still need to prepare the drinks, chawamushi and salmon miso soup on their own. Which added their work load. Fourth, due to lack of staff, it makes me abit afraid to order more or calling for them because they can't heck it. Next will be the food: First, The taste of the salmon and clam miso soup is weird. It doesn't bring out the salmon taste, and there are some sandy feel at the bottom of the bowl when my wife start stirring it. Comparing to Genki sushi this soup is only 1 star. Second, Salmon sashimi also pathetic, one plate is 2 pieces. My family doesn't know how many at first, so we placed 4 plates. End up 8 pieces. And these sashimi wasn't on the belt for a while when we started eating, so with that 8 pieces, we also scared to order more because it will add into the work load again. Luckily, more were placed on the belts. Third, many of the sushi on the belt were not place properly, some topple. Maybe the kitchen too busy. Fourth, The sushi are repeated, lack of choices. Overall, this visit is not very fulfilling, we also never eat as much as before and like other japanese restaurant. Hope they can do better to have at least more staff outside and more food varieties.
