TAI ER 太二酸菜鱼 (SUNTEC)
Tai Er at Suntec feels somewhat different from the locations in the U.S. The fish broth here is noticeably more oily, but still flavorful and enjoyable. The menu also has a few different dishes compared to the American locations, which made it fun to try new items. We ordered the spinach and mushroom, shredded potatoes, roasted pork with lettuce wraps, and the jalapeño pork, which ended up being my favorite. The mochi ice cream was the same as what you’d get in the U.S., a familiar and reliable way to end the meal. We made a reservation ahead of time, but it didn’t seem necessary since it wasn’t too busy. The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable, and they even offered a complimentary drink, which was just okay. Ordering is done via QR code, and the servers were friendly and helpful throughout. Overall, a relaxed dining experience with some differences from the U.S. version, but still a solid spot I’d come back to.
Enjoyed the suancai fish which was the highlighted dish. The spiciness was just right, and the suancai just elevated the flavours of the fish slices. Other side dishes we ordered included the crispy pork which was fried to perfection, the cabbage which was very flavourful (though a little too oily), and the spicy stir fried chicken which was another thoghlight for the meal. The Roselle drink was also tasty with dried mandarin skin but I personally preferred the cold one.
Very nice suan cai fish at Tai Er. The atmosphere was surprisingly pleasant and calm, even though the restaurant was almost fully packed. I also ordered the mapo tofu, which was very flavourful, though it packed quite a spicy kick. The suan cai fish was easily one of the best I have had and is an absolute must-order when visiting. Even the rice stood out, smooth, fragrant, and surprisingly premium in texture.
A must-have spot for comfort food lovers! 😋🍲 The Suan Cai and fish are absolutely delicious — tangy, flavourful, and so satisfying 🐟✨ One of my other favourites is the cabbage soup, which is simply heavenly and very comforting 🥬💖 A nice place to catch up with friends over good food and meaningful conversations 🗣️👯♂️ Will definitely be back! #MustHave #SuanCaiFish #ComfortFood #SoupLovers #FoodieFinds #GoodFoodGoodMood #FriendsAndFood 🍽️💕
If you are craving for authentic Szechuan cuisine, look no further,Tai Er at Suntec is the place to go. The dishes are amazing and packed with just the right flavours. The special fish broth was tastefully complex and hit the right notes of spiciness and sourness. What a heartwarming dish! The mapo tofu paired with rice was simply heavenly and the egg with green chilies, what a revelation! The unlimited tea was a nice touch as well. Will definitely be back to sample the other dishes.
