I am a big fan of Yew Kee. However, the spectacled uncle at this branch is very very very rude, barking instructions at me. So i totally gave up ordering and left. My previous visits were ok, the guys standing with him was ok too - they nodded when I ask to add $1 to upsize. But this uncle ignored my request and only want to say his piece. He insist another bowl repeatedly which I said no repeatedly. It Is hard to employ staff - but honestly if u cannot even bother to listen to your customers - is giving your brand a bad name. 👎👎
A beloved heritage brand that has now become a large holding company. It's even listed on the stock exchange! Affordable duck rice. One thing amazing about it is the quality control. Unlike some other brands who have let their product suffer as they've expanded, this one is remarkably consistent among its outlets all across Singapore. Well composed dish, components put together thoughtfully and logically. This particular outlet also has an amazing view of the fountain of wealth. Location & Ambience - Nice setting with a view facing the Fountain of Wealth, which makes it a pleasant spot to sit, eat, enjoy the views while dining. Food Quality - The duck meat was a bit stiff and not as tender as we expected, it lacks that melt-in-your-mouth texture good Teochew braised duck should have. - The Kuay Chap was disappointing… the intestines weren’t tender, the pig skin wasn’t soft enough, & the portion sizes felt small / underwhelming.
Dropped by here for a quick lunch… in midst of my shopping. Good seating area facing the Suntec Wealth Fountain. Ordered the braised duck noodles, adding an egg. The noodles is cooked to perfection. Not over cooked. Braised duck and the soup a bit too salty for my liking.
As for the restaurant I stumbled upon by chance, I saw a long queue and decided to give it a try. It turns out the duck was tender and the soup, which was made with Chinese herbs, was very delicious. The restaurant is located in Suntec City.
