Tea House by Soup Restaurant - IMM
Booked online and were given a private room. Really liked the Chinese New Year horse decorations. The Samsui ginger chicken is still up to their usual standard, and the New Zealand venison with spring onion and ginger was the best dish of the meal. However, the double-boiled whole coconut with black chicken soup tasted like plain water. We expected the chicken and coconut to be cooked together, but it seems the soup was cooked separately and then poured into the coconut, so there was almost no coconut flavour at all.
Walk in on a weekend evening at around 6pm and waiting time is less than one minute to be seated. Ordered the Siew Mai, Lychee Cheese Ball, Fried Beancurd Roll, Prawn Chee Cheong Fun and Char Siew Noodles. The Lychee Cheese Ball is crispy on the outside and cheesy inside. The Siew Mai, Prawn Cheong Fun and Fried Beancurd Roll is tasty and the prawn texture is chewy and succulent. The Noodles texture is springy and the Char Siew taste good. Customer service is very good as the plain water is refilled timely and used plates are cleared promptly. Environment is also very clean and tidy.
Had a great dining experience here. The dim sum was reasonable and delicious, and the service made it even better. Our waitress Alice, was very nice and friendly — her warm attitude truly added joy to the meal. Will definitely come back again.
Excellent food and service at this Soup Restaurant outlet. The fish belly and Ah Kon ginger rice are also family favourites. Kudos to the staff also particularly Alice Thong. Will return soon!
The samsui chicken is their signature dish. Succulent chicken meat with ginger paste n sesame oil. The fried carrot cake comes with loads of crunchy bean spouts. The soup of the day was no let down, double boiled and oozing with flavors. Had the Char Siew pastry and egg tarts for take away. The Char Siew pastry was really good but not for anyone who doesn't like seasame flavor.
